Social Service

Support Services for Students with Special Educational Needs
Students with special educational needs require consistent assistance from social workers in
study, socialization, problem solving, emotion management, CLP and parental support, so as to
help enhance their self-understanding, learn self-management and explore their own potential
over the six years of secondary school, which is their crucial stage of life. The Agency’s school
social workers usually intervene with arts and sports and work closely with special learning
support team of each school to provide different support services to students with special
educational needs. For instance, the school social worker of Hong Kong & Kowloon Chiu
Chow Public Association Secondary School will conduct groups for socialization and emotion
management for students each year, with the use of expressing art therapy, allowing students to
learn about their own self, expand their social circle and establish friendships for mutual support
on campus.
