Using Your Phone Properly

Nowadays, many people have their own phones. Although phones make our life more convenient,
they can also ruin a person’s life. We must know how to use our phones properly.
In this day and age, smartphones are getting smarter and smarter. However, they reduce our time
seeing each other face-to-face. They are also bad for your health. Staring at the screen of your phone for
a long time can harm your eyes. That is why a lot of people nowadays need to wear glasses.
Focusing on your phone can not only harm your eyes, but also make you less sensitive to things around
you. For example, if you focus on your phone while riding on an escalator, you may not notice that you have
already reached the end of the escalator and trip over. This could cause injuries to yourself and others.
Not paying attention to website safety can put your personal information at risk or cause you to lose
your properties. In addition to such loss, there may be wrong messages on the Internet too. They can
teach you wrong values. A lot of people think only video games contain messages about violence or
pornography. The truth is that social media is full of similar contents. In Australia, 44% of children aged 9-16
had come across sexual images while surfing the Internet for different purposes. Of these, 16% had seen
images of sexual intercourse. The problem is still getting worse.
We must know how to use our phones properly. Our phones aren’t the host of us. We are the hosts of
our phones. Now, sit down and think if your smartphone had been controlling you!

In the morning, there is a fantasy adventure film broadcasting. I wasn't interested at the beginning.
I started to concentrate when I saw the animal doctor, who was the main character and he could
communicate with animals. The animals talked like human only to the doctor. They helped the doctor do
different tasks in a huge mansion. These animals and the doctor then had an adventure at a mysterious
place in order to find a cure to save the queen from a deadly disease. In the end, they successfully saved
the queen and the kingdom is saved. It was so much fun!
News broadcasting in the later hours of the day was informative. I learned that the MTR will be
extending the routes between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Starting from next month, we could get
to Admiralty station from Hung Hom in just a few minutes! It really helps office workers. Looking into the
international news, Ukraine is still being attacked relentlessly by Russia. I hope the war could stop as
soon as possible as there are too many innocent people affected. I think European countries should offer
more help to Ukraine and negotiate with Russia to urge them to end the ruthless violence.
