One Thing I Can’t Resist Doing

Playing video games is my most favourite pastime. I can’t resist playing video games. Hardly do I think
twice but simply surrender to it every time including doing homework, during my school bus rides and even
having lessons, except my favourite English class of course.
Gaming all day long is my dream, from outdoor to indoor and from dawn to dusk. To fulfil my video-game
mission, I often play until midnight and forget to do my homework. I even take my dad’s phone secretly and
play video games while going to the toilet. What a video game addict I am!

Why am I so obsessed with gaming? Well, it is absolutely exhilarating and it helps me forget all the
stresses from heaps of schoolwork, tests and exams. In addition to being a hobby, gaming also lessens my
daily pressure from parents and even helps me escape from the reality for a short while, which is nevertheless
an incorrect and immature thought.

However, my backache, neck pain and eyestrain keep reminding me how unhealthy gaming is. Therefore,
I have been trying hard to play less and better control myself now because I understand that such indulgence
comes at a price of my health, studies and social relationships. Hence, please bear with me as I am resolute
and unwavering to cut down on my gaming addiction to a safe level.

All in all, I still love playing video games! With appropriate self-discipline and proper balance of time, I
will keep on with this lifetime hobby. Perhaps one day I will be a professional gamer representing my city to
compete in the international eSports tournament. To achieve my aspiration, let me start gearing up myself with
well-rounded cutting-edge technical knowledge of computers and programming.
