A Detective Story

It was a perfect new day in Cheungdingberg and everyone in that city appreciated the great security
there. That morning, a boy called Rami Chan and his sister Gemma were walking to school. Their class
teacher, Miss Loleta, was preparing the Math exercise paper for them. During the Math lesson, Miss
Cheung called Miss Loleta out and talked for a few minutes. After the first recess, PE lessons started.
Gemma was playing dodgeball with monitress Lea Seydoux and monitor Kit Harrington. Mr. Sin, who was
their new and confused PE teacher, called all of the students to sit down and listen to him. Five minutes
later, monitress Lea Seydoux found that Gemma, who was sitting next to her, disappeared a few moments
earlier!
She ran to Mr. Sin, who was still thinking how to teach the students to play the game. He stopped
thinking and looked at Lea with his mouth wide open. “What?… Wha… how…?” Mr. Sin’s voice was
shaking. He looked around and saw that Rami was missing. He called Mr. Leung, the strongest and
buffest detective agent in history. He arrived in a split second and asked, “I am at your service! Is there
anything I can help?” “Ya! There is something I need you to help!” said Mr. Sin firmly.
After hearing the problem, Agent Leung looked around for some evidence. He found a piece of paper
writing “Miss Cheung is the best!” Then he saw some fresh mud footprints. They led back to playground.
Agent Leung was quite confused. He asked some witnesses. “Monitor Kit, did you see anything weird
today?” “Well, during the Math lesson, our favorite teacher, Miss Cheung, talked to Miss Loleta privately,”
said Kit. “Miss Yim and May heard the janitor talked to Miss Cheung during the first recess,’ said Lea.
“Aha! I knew it! It has to be Miss Cheung who kidnapped them!” said Agent Leung. When all students
went to her office table, they were all shocked to see Miss Cheung eating and enjoying her can of coke.
She asked, “Umm… what's going on?”
“You are under arrest!” said Agent Leung. “What?” said Miss Cheung. “I am innocent!” She added.
“Well, where are Gemma and Rami?” asked Agent Leung. “They're behind you…” said Miss Cheung.
“What? When? How?” asked Agent Leung.

“Umm… we were following you guys all along,” said Gemma and Rami. “But how did you disappear?”
asked Agent Leung. “Miss Cheung told us that she had forgotten to eat breakfast this morning, so Gemma
walked to Miss Cheung, who was sitting under a tree, and gave her some crackers,” said Rami. “Oh… that
explains the mud footprints that led to a tree and back to the playground.”
“Mr. Sin hid us behind him!” said Gemma. “Ha! Now I know who tricks me! Mr. Sin!!!”cried Agent
Leung. “Oh, no, no, no!” muttered Mr. Sin with a smirk on his face.
