Integrated Family Service Centre is comprised of Family Resource Unit, Family Support Unit and
Family Counselling Unit, providing services in accordance with service principles such as accessibility,
early identification, integration, and partnership.
Our Centre has handled 1,414 cases this year, a 44% increase compared to last year, with 968 of
them belonging to brief and supportive cases. The number of financial assistance cases has largely
increased under the COVID-19. The rest 446 cases belong to intensive counselling cases where the
case nature mainly revolves around emotional issues, family relationships, conflicts between spouse
and intimate partners, children care and parent-child relationship / parenting.
Our Centre is one of the few Integrated Family Service Centres which help promote “One-off Living
Subsidy for Low-income Households Not Living in Public Housing and Not Receiving CSSA”
Programme under the Community Care Fund, hoping to reach out the hidden families living in the
district. Among nearly 1000 application cases, 12% of them are identified with service need and
handled by our social workers, fulfilling our objective of early identification and intervention.
The pandemic has hugely impaired residents’ financial capacity. This year, our Centre has handled
and referred over 50% more applications to Short-term Food Assistance Service Project, the
Community Chest Rainbow Fund and the CLP “Power Your Love” Programme. During the pandemic,
many of the companies and organizations have donated us various supplies such as supermarket
cash vouchers, convenience store meal coupons, pandemic prevention supplies and etc., for
distribution to residents with urgent needs.
