6B Lee Wang Tak

We went to many places through the North Island of New Zealand, but the place that I remember
the most is Te Puia. The two things that I remember the most about Te Puia are the thermal spring
and the ‘welcoming ceremony’. It is amazing to see a thermal spring. It is created by hot lava only 3
kilometers under the surface of the Te Puia region. The rainwater from the surface soaks down into
the ground and meets the lava, then it creates the thermal spring. For the ‘welcoming ceremony’, it
was given by the Maori people when we entered the Elder house to welcome us and also to see if
we were friendly or not. This ceremony is a kind of fun and it was followed by a show inside the Elder
house where the warriors and the women of the clan performed some Maori traditional dances and
also there were activities for us to experience the Maori culture .
This was a meaningful trip. We have learnt a lot of new knowledge about the culture and natural
environment of New Zealand.

5B Lo Yat Long
I had an unforgettable time in New Zealand. This was my first flight in my lifetime. It was also my first
time to travel outside Hong Kong without my parents. I have learnt how to take care of myself and to
cooperate with my classmates. This trip made me become more mature and independent.
I visited a lot of places in New Zealand. My favourite place was Agrodome Farm. I saw a lot of
different animals such as alpacas, deer, goats and lots of other animals I have never seen before.
In the farm show, we saw sheepdogs and learnt about sheep shearing and milking a cow. It was
awesome.
I also liked the day when we went to the stream and learnt how to do tests in nature. We caught many
bugs that loved the oxygen in the stream. That means the stream is full of oxygen and the water is
good. How interesting!
I need to thank all the people who helped me in this trip. I hope I can go to New Zealand again.

5B Pang Hoi Yuk

I had a wonderful school trip to New Zealand. This was my first time to travel outside Hong Kong without
my parents. I thank my parents and teachers for offering this valuable chance to me.
On the third day, we went to the Hobbiton Movie Set. We walked up the hill and took many nice photos
of the houses of the Hobbits. The small houses looked amazing and they were completely the same
as those I watched in the movie, ‘The Lords of the Ring’. I visited the house of Bilbo Baggins. It looked
beautiful outside but it was a mess inside!
On the seventh day, we went to Tauranga harbour estuary to catch sea animals. At first, I couldn’t catch
any molluscs or crabs. Then I asked Uncle Doug for help. He told me that I should try to get some mud
with hands and might find some crabs inside. Finally, I got a small crab. I was so excited and screamed.
Suddenly the small crab bit my finger. I screamed again.
We had great fun in this trip. Moreover, it provided me opportunities to learn a lot about the culture of
New Zealand. Besides, I had a great experience to learn how to work with my classmates and develop
our friendship. I also learned how to take care of myself. Most importantly I know I need to learn how to
control myself and listen to others.

6B Bai En Lin Yanni
This was my first time flying to another country without my parents. We went to a lot of places such as
Maori Cultural Centre and the kiwi fruit farm. My favourite places were the farm and Hobbiton.
The farm was one of my favourite places because I saw amazing animals like llamas, lambs, horses,
deer and more! they were cute, fluffy and friendly. We watched a farm show and went shopping in the
souvenir shop. It was amazing.
We also went to Hobbiton. The houses there have cool designs. I like Bilbo’s house because it has a
green door and a fake tree on top of the house. The tree looked so real! We also went to the souvenir
shop. I bought a rune stone and a badge. It was fantastic!
This was the best education trip I have ever had. I learnt a lot of things and I love the nature of New
Zealand. We enjoyed a lot of outdoor activities. Moreover, I learnt how to clean my bags after the trip.
What a wonderful trip!
