I learnt a lot of things about environmental protection from the trip. New
Zealanders are using different kinds of energy such as solar energy, hydro
energy and wind energy. In addition, they have colourful recycling bins around
the city. They are encouraged to recycle waste. After returning to Hong Kong, I
always remind myself of collecting useful waste. I think our government should
do more for developing natural energy so that we can save more energy for the
world.

I feel so thankful because my parents gave me an opportunity of learning
about New Zealand. Travelling to the southern hemisphere certainly broaden
my horizons. In New Zealand, I could see sheep everywhere. It is impossible
to get such close to many sheep in Hong Kong. I was amazed at Kiwi birds.
Besides, I was very lucky as I heard that it is not easy to find and see them
clearly in that dark Kiwi Bird’s house. They were so cute. I surely agree that
Kiwi bird is the top popular icon of New Zealand.

New Zealand is very different from Hong Kong. We always see many tall
buildings on both sides of our roads. However, we could see many trees,
mountains, lawns and even farm animals around New Zealand. I could
breathe fresh air every second there. On the contrary, the air we have in
Hong Kong is full of pollutants.
There’s a traditional ethnic group called Maori. I watched a Maori dance
show which impressed me a lot. To welcome the audience, the Moari
performers used many different body motions and facial expressions. That
was the most unforgettable performance that I had not seen before.

I was very excited about having the luge ride. The luge cart doesn’t need
any fuel or electricity, so it does not cause any air pollution. If I can take a
luge ride in Hong Kong, I will be very happy. On the third day, we visited the
Agrodome Farm. I think the air in New Zealand is so fresh that makes the
animals healthy. I recognized that clean air is very important to all kinds of
lives. On the seventh day, we went to a beautiful beach. The water was as
clear as the sky. The sand was very clean. I could not find any plastic waste,
cans or bottles on the beach. We built a wonderful “Green Hotel” there. I
think New Zealand is a green country. I hope Hong Kong people can learn
how to protect the environment from New Zealanders.

I think we could experience many interesting things about New Zealand.
During the Agrodome Farm Tour, we saw many animals like goats, alpaca,
llama, sheep, chickens and fat pigs. All of us were very interested in the
sheep shearing show. Besides, we met a friendly tour guide in the Hobbiton
Movie Set. He brought us to different Hobbiton houses and explained how
each scene supported the story. He even showed us his favourite Hobbiton
house. Furthermore, I will never forget that I went to the top of the mountain
by cable car. Then we took the exciting luge ride down the mountain tracks.
Absolutely, I liked the ride more than anything else.
