It was my honour to participate in this trip to New Zealand. With no doubt, my parents approved me
to join as they believed this would be a valuable experience. New Zealanders are quite different from
us. They enjoy the quietness and will not talk loudly in public areas, which is a kind of respect and
avoidance of disturbance. The water quality in New Zealand is limpid, no one will throw rubbish into
rivers. In different places, there are different rules and customs which we should respect and display
good travel etiquette.
The most unforgettable day was the fifth day. We went to Skyline Rotorua to take the luge rides.
Do you know what is a luge? It looks like a go-kart and it was breath-taking to ride on it. Later in the
afternoon, we rode on a cable car to the top of Mount Ngongotaha and saw the beautiful view of
Rotorua.
In producing the kiwi advertisement, I realise teamwork is very important. If we want to have
outstanding performance, we have to listen to others’ opinions because unity is strength.
At last, I want to thank my parents, they financially and mentally supported me for this great exchange
experience, and truly it was!

In this trip, I learned about the indigenous people in New Zealand——Māori
people’s culture and how to use koru to make their traditional crafts. I studied the history of Māori
people and how they migrated to New Zealand in ancient times too. I desperately enjoyed the rhythmic
Māori dance and the weaving session. All these let us understand the history of New Zealand!
In McLarens Falls, it was my first time to use water creatures to check water quality. How amazing
it was! I learned about many different kinds of creatures living in the river too! This was the most
interesting activity in this trip.
Skyline luge ride was the most exciting activity as I expected. I screamed with excitement when the
luge rode down the mountain track. I played it two times because it was so exciting. I also had a
scrumptious lunch buffet too! It was the happiest day!
New Zealand is very proud of its environment protection and it’s very clean everywhere. How to make
Hong Kong as clean as New Zealand? It’s not difficult! Let’s work together and put the 4R (Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle and Replace) principles into practice. I believe we will have a cleaner environment
like New Zealand in the near future. This New Zealand trip let me know the importance of environment
protection and trained me to take good care of myself. I hope I can join this sort of overseas exchange
again next year!

Today is the last day of the New Zealand Study Tour. I’m not willing to leave there as the scenery
of New Zealand is very beautiful, it comes to my mind very often when I’m on my way home. New
Zealand is really wonderful!
During the tour, it definitely broadened my horizons. I experienced the tribal culture when I visited
Māori. I learned about their traditions including special customs, different arts and crafts. I was very
glad to dance with them furiously on the stage, I felt myself like a warrior!
The most memorable activity was the Skyline Luge. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the cable car
and it was so excited to ride on the Skyline luge down the hill. We had a great and enjoyable time
there.
The coastline of New Zealand is very attractive. Most people have a strong sense of environmental
awareness. The beaches, the streets and even the water are all nice and clear.
The breathtaking view was unforgettable. I was glad to play with my classmates on such a clean beach
in our bare feet. Thus, we should learn how to protect our coastal creatures and the environment. Hong
Kong’s beaches will be as beautiful as New Zealand’s one day.
Finally, I was pleased to have a chance to participate in this New Zealand study tour. It helped me
understand and respect different cultures from other countries. It was a memorable experience in my
primary school life.

Before going to New Zealand, I expected to learn more about the culture, landscapes, animals and
plants there. I could not wait to see the Māori dance, the farm show and Hobbiton where the movie was
filmed. I would also like to visit the volcanoes, geysers and rainforests. I even wanted to see the animals,
especially kiwi birds. They were very lovely when I searched information from the YouTube video.
The trip to New Zealand was very fruitful and memorable. I saw a lot of beautiful sceneries, animals
and plants. I tasted many delicious food, fruits and snacks. I also encountered plenty of challenging
adventures and brand-new experiences. Besides, I learned a lot about the culture, landscapes and
conservation in New Zealand.
Furthermore, I improved my skills in working with my teammates.
In conclusion, most of the moments were joyful and unforgettable. The volcanic sceneries were eye-
catching. My favourite animals were kiwi birds and llamas. The honey ice-cream and kiwis were tasty too.
The skyline luge was super exciting. However, I was the most impressed by the glow worms in the forest,
24 like the stars twinkling in the galaxy. All these made me never forget this trip!
