Following the launch of CLAP@JC 2.0, the elements of career and life development (CLD) intervention
had been promoted in outreaching services, with an aim to help the youth turn crisis into opportunities
and realise their career aspirations based on their potentials. Using CLD intervention model and tools, the
outreach social workers facilitated a smooth transition from school to professional career for the youth. On
the practical front, CLD-driven interest groups, such as basketball training group and latte art training group,
were introduced to motivate the youth to set out a CLD journey. With industry sharing from the instructors,
young people were also encouraged to explore multiple pathways.
As part of overnight outreaching services, SIE Make in Programme served to deepen the youth’s
understanding of CLD through the provision of skills training and work experience. Relevant skills include
leathercraft, soap making, electronic lighting and floristry. By providing internship to young people, they could
practice their skills for the future. In this programme, the youth were encouraged to cultivate a positive work
attitude and proactively consider the possibility of developing the skills into their career.
