The Classroom Cleaning Day

On 12 December, we had a Classroom Cleaning Day. The event was held
from 10 o’clock to 11 o’clock in the morning. Ms. Catherine gave us two brooms
and two towels. We felt excited because we wanted to win the Cleaning
Competition. Ms. Catherine said winning the Cleaning Competition was to be
rewarded four YouShine Stamps and we all applauded.

I started wiping the dirty desks with a small towel. After a while, the dirty
desks became sparkling yellow-green desks. Zoe cleaned the floor because
the floor was dirty. Maggie wiped the blackboard. And the others bent down
and picked the lost pencils and put them into the lost and found box.

Suddenly, a yellow bee flew into our classroom.
Maggie’s eyes were full of tears. She held the towel
tightly because she was scared of the bee. Zoe was
frightened of the bee too. Her heart skipped beats.
She dropped the broom and it went “ba”. I was also
scared of the bee and we didn’t know what to do.
Zoe said, “If we have a secret base, then we can
hide from the bee,” and I had an idea, I said, ‘We
can open all the windows and doors to let the bee fly
away. We’ll all hide under the desks.” So we did and
waited and waited.

Finally, the bee flew away! We all cheered and
scattered around the classroom. We became good friends because we helped
one another while we were hiding from the bee. After this day, we aren’t scared
of bees and I hope that no more scary bees will fly into our classroom.
