Conclusion
Closing Remarks
In the report last year, I talked about a wave of retirement in LTS’ professors. With the retirement of Dr.
Peter Li, we are lucky to have Dr. Bai Jun Xiao coming to continue the teaching of Church History. We
also missed Dr. Chan Kam Kuen in December 2018. Furthermore, the three missionaries: Mrs. Po Chu
Groenvold, Dr. Jan Depner and Dr. Dieter Mitternacht will also be going back to their home countries after
this term. Here, I wish to express my whole-hearted gratitude for all their hard work in the past years and
pray that the Lord will bless them richly in their future ministries.
In August 2018, the Board of Directors invited me to stay on for another three years after the expiration of
my term of office in 2019. Being grateful for the immense trust given to me by LTS’s directors, associated
churches and colleagues, I pray to seek God’s guidance and direction in my new term. When Bishop Ben
Chang made this announcement to the seminary during the morning prayer meeting in October 2018, I
had a feeling that my work for the next few years will be unusual. I praise the Lord for the unusual and
often unexpected blessings through living in Him. At the same time, I pray that He will bestow on the LTS
community with unusual blessings to provide them with unusual strength and power to venture ahead to
complete the unusual passing of the baton. I also pray that all of us will exercise exceptional accommodation
among one another and fully support the mission of LTS with prayers and dedication. I thank you, once
again, in Christ.
