washrooms of the academic building, and gradually maintenance work will be arranged in all areas. Though
it seems complicated, we believe that the Lord’s grace is sufficient. Praise the Lord!
         B. The Chaplaincy

         1. 2018-2019 Chaplaincy Department activities include: fall term retreat camp, fall & spring term morning
devotions, family gatherings, prayer meetings for LTS families, school opening service, new students’
orientation, new students’ dedication service, campus services, dormitory meetings and the annual
            commissioning service.
         2. The Chaplaincy is also in charge of the Field Education assignment. In 2018, 38 students were accepted
for the internship scheme. The number of students is gradually increasing.
         3. The Seminar on Commitment is designed for those who are willing to offer themselves for full time
training in pastoral ministry. 23 participants joined the event on 10th to 11th Feb.
         4. Due to the positive response to the Discipleship Day Camp in 2017, the Chaplaincy continued to arrange “A
Blessed Learning” day camp for the young generation of churches. 21 participants attended the camp on
            1st Dec.
         5. The Chaplaincy keeps looking after our students; and have meetings and sharing times with them on a
            regular basis.

         C. Library
         1. 2018 is a milestone for the Library. As there are so few people living on Tao Fung Shan, for many years
the Internet Service Provider was not willing to dig up our road and extend the optical fiber Internet
broadband line up to our hill top. Hence, the Internet speed in the Library and Seminary was extremely
slow. At Christmas 2017, the long awaited optical fibers were installed on the hill top of Tao Fung Shan,
finally on the LTS campus! Through thousands of brothers and sisters, who have been donating more than
one million Hong Kong dollars to support the optical fiber installation project, now the Library full text
electronic resources can be fully utilized at full speed in 2018! In 2018 our total full text e-books increased
from 20,000 volumes to more than 80,000 volumes, and e-journals from 730 to 860. The Library has
upgraded our ATLASerials Database to ATLASerials Plus, which includes more Catholic full text journals
            and the Catholic Periodical Index.
         2. With the optical fibers installed, the wifi has been further upgraded and free guest wifi login is now
provided. Wireless connection to library resources is much faster. Thanks to the Lord, with a generous
donation, 10 new computers have been installed in the Library for public use! The computer facilities in
the Library have been really much improved in 2018.
         3. In 2018, the second batch of Mainland China Theological Librarianship Program students have made good
progress and they have finished 18 credit courses. We thank the many professional brothers and sisters
from HKUST, HKBU, HKPolyU Library and seminary libraries offering their great help to the Program!
If all of the students can be graduated by 2019, then over half of the Mainland China seminaries will have
            a well equipped library staff.
         4. As we have done in the past 22 years, LTS Library has been advising and supporting theological library
development in Mainland China. In 2018 we have been especially supporting the new libraries in the new
Central South Seminary campus (Hubei) and the new Hunan Bible Institute campus. We are also advising
the Hebei Bible Institute Library and the Shenzhen Theological Research Center Library.
         D. Development Department
The Development Department is responsible for fundraising, promotional events organization and support,
publicity publications, (especially the seminary newsletters), as well as keeping in close contact with
churches and supporters. The Department needs a stable and committed team (including both staff and
volunteers). For the Development Department however, 2018 was a challenging year. Due to the office staff
re-allocation, the staffing of the Development Department fell seriously short, while at the same time the
Department was needed to tackle diverse and rich promotional activities of the seminary, especially in the
fall semester, after the theological conference which was immediately followed by the fundraising walkathon
with the objective of rising HKD 2 million. Thanks to the Lord however, His Grace was full. Even though
the actual Department’s personnel help was seriously limited, the Lord’s supply was full. With the support
of brothers and sisters in the Lord, we raised more than HKD 2.6 million on the day of the walkathon.

                                                                                                    23
