Dear Graduates, Congratulations! May God’s amazing love and
power be with you and your faithful service always.
“Here is how we know that we love God’s children: when we
love God, we also do what He commands. For loving God
means obeying His commands. Moreover, His commands are
not burdensome, because everything which has God as its Father
overcomes the world. And this is what victoriously overcomes
the world: our trust.” (1 John 5:2-4)

“The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You
have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will
give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’” -
Matthew 25:23 (New Living Translation)
Indeed, your journey continues as you embark on new territory.
Go with faith, patience and courage - and don’t forget to celebrate
along the way!

To the 42 Graduation Class of Lutheran Theological Seminary:
It is wonderful that you have succeeded in reaching this landmark
event in your life, and I wish you all much success in the
future. As you pursue your vocation recall these words from the
thanksgiving hymns in the Dead Sea Scrolls:
“I will seek your spirit of knowledge cleaving to your spirit of
holiness. I will hold fast to the truth of your covenant so that I
might serve you in truth and wholeness of heart, and that I may
love your name.”
