Words from the Dean of Studies

各位親愛的畢業同學：
過去動盪的一年所發生的事情，不論是委內瑞拉的
政局，二月底的「特金會」，甚至是中美有關「華為」的
角力或國內秋雨聖約教會的遭遇，似乎對我們沒有直接的
影響，與我們距離仍然很遠。然而，我們蒙召跟隨主，不
單要作上帝的忠僕，也要像我們的主一樣的關愛世人。因
此，對2019年應屆畢業的同學，不論是本港的或是海外
的，希望以下路德和耶穌的話能提醒和激勵你們作這時代
的傳道人：

「假如你為了真理或正義而不公正地被逐出教會，
你絕不能阻止導致你遭受這種暴力的事情。如果你因此不
能在離世前領受聖禮，如果你的屍體被丟棄入未被祝聖之
地，甚至被再次挖出來，扔掉入水中，你要歡喜快樂！在
這種不公正的逐教令之下死去的人有福了！因為他仍然忠
於正義，他將獲得生命的冠冕。」

Dear Graduates,
What happened in the past turbulent year, whether it is the political situation in Venezuela, the meeting of
Donald Trump with Kim Jong-un in the end of February, or even the wrestling between China and the United
States about Huawei or the oppressive situation of the Early Rain Covenant Church, seems to have no direct
impact on us. However, we are called to follow the Lord, not only to be God’s loyal servants, but also to
care for the people of the world like our Lord. Therefore, for those who graduated in 2019, whether local or
overseas, I hope that the following words from Luther and from our lord Jesus Christ will remind you and
encourage you to preach His words to the world of our time:
“If you are unjustly banned for the sake of truth or justice, you may by no means stop doing what causes
you to suffer such violence. If, as a consequence, you die without the sacrament, if your corpse is thrust into
unconsecrated ground, or even if it is dug out again and cast into the water, happy are you! Blessed is he who
dies under such an unjust ban! For inasmuch as he has remained faithful to righteousness, he shall gain the
crown of life.”
