Adopting a Puppy

Dear Mum,

Hi , how are you doing in China? The main reason I am writing to you is because I wanted
to ask you if I can have a puppy.

I attended a Puppy Adoption Day last Sunday and I realised that I can give a puppy a new
life by adopting and taking care of it. When I am at home there isn’t anyone to play with me
because you and Dad always work until very late and my brother is in the UK, studying. I am
alone at home most of the time. So I wonder if I could adopt a puppy to play with me when I am
bored and I will also spend less time on computer games. There are some things I can do with
my puppy, such as training it to do tricks, taking it out for a walk and feeding it.

Secondly, I can take care of myself so I think I can take care of the puppy too. By saying
taking care of it, I mean taking it for a walk two times a day and cleaning up its mess.

I know we don’t have enough space for it to sleep but I think maybe it could sleep in my
room.

I really hope you will give me permission to have a puppy as a pet.
