anniversary, we want to remind all Hioecians that God is our guide and light in our lives. As
Psalm 119:105 says: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Our Morning
Assembly, Hymn Singing, Evangelistic Week, Senior Christian Fellowship, Junior Christian
Fellowship, Summer Camp, etc. are also important moments when we learn Bible words
and Christian values. Message from Principal – the way forward

In celebrating our 50 anniversary, our first event was the Thanksgiving Service. We
are honored that all 5 former HTYC principals participated in the Thanksgiving Service
in December 2021, either in person or through audio and video, to bless HTYC. All the
achievements of HTYC in the past 50 years have been established under the leadership of
our 5 former principals. In the Service, we counted together God’s blessings on HTYC over
the past 50 years. It also reminded us not to forget that we must continue to rely on God to
move forward in the days ahead.
Connect Hioecians
Alumni support has been a great strength for HTYC for decades. HTYC alumni have a deep
sense of belonging to HTYC and have built deep friendships with their classmates and
teachers over the past 50 years. We must continue to maintain this Hioecians’ connection
th
to HTYC. To celebrate the 50 anniversary, we held three Alumni Reunion Days in November
and July so that alumni could come back to HTYC to meet their former classmates and
teachers. In the days ahead, HTYC needs our alumni to continue to support us so that we
can do our best to nurture generations of outstanding Hioecians.
th
Music is also a wonderful memory of HTYC. We specially held a 50 Anniversary Online
Concert so that alumni could relive HTYC’s musical memories and acknowledge students’
accomplishment in musical achievements. Performances in the Concert included the
choir, A cappella group, various instrumental performances, the alumni choir, and a pop
singer’s solo. The most touching part of the concert was singing the school song. Teachers,
students and alumni sang the school song “Where Southern Skies Are Warming” together.
Singing the school song has brought Hioecians in Hong Kong and overseas together.
With the connection and support of our alumni, we will be more confident to continue to
provide quality education to young people and nurture them as upright persons to serve our
community.

From Strength to Strength
I am proud to be a Hioecian myself. I am also grateful to HTYC for not only nurturing me
academically, but more importantly for bringing me to know Jesus Christ and providing
opportunities for me to develop and serve in different areas. HTYC has always insisted on
focusing on Christian values as our value education and life education. We expect HTYC to
be a place where Hioecians can explore and understand the meaning of life, respect and
cherish the value of life, and love and develop personal life. We have high expectations for
Hioecians. We will continue to inherit the strengths of HTYC in the past. At the same time, 50 th Anniversary
we will keep up with the times and strive to develop more strengths.
