Message from Principal – the way forward
Grow in Faith, Bloom in Grace, Flourish in Christ
Thank God for His amazing grace in bringing me back to HTYC as

Principal and for giving me the opportunity to celebrate HTYC’s 50
Anniversary together with Hioecians. I have always been proud to
be a Hioecian and my heart has been connected to HTYC over the
years. Because of God’s guidance and grace, HTYC has made many
outstanding achievements in the past 50 years and has nurtured many
outstanding alumni to serve the society in Hong Kong and different
places around the world.
Established in 1971, The Y.W.C.A. Hioe Tjo Yoeng College has been
nurturing future pillars for half a decade. We are dedicated to the
provision of quality Christian education, applying the school’s motto:
Think Critically and be Moral. The academic year 2021-22 marks

our school’s 50 anniversary and a milestone worth celebrating and
remembering. The theme of the anniversary, ‘Flourish in His Grace’,
expresses not just our joy for achievement but, most importantly, our
gratitude for God’s grace and blessings. Throughout its fifty years,
HTYC has walked through many ups and downs, which is only possible
with God’s grace. We have been passing on her legacy in nurturing
future generations.
As a Christian school, we guide our students to live by the words of
God, love families, contribute to communities and glorify God. With
God’s grace, we are able to defy challenges and witness God. We bear
fruit and contribute to our community. A walk down memory lane has
proven the dedication of former Principals, who built the solid foundation
of our excellent school culture. With years of hard toil, our teaching staff
have been nurturing talent and accompanying their growth. We cannot
thank God more for His meticulous grace from the beginning.
Count Your Blessings
To celebrate and count the blessings of God in these five decades,

we have organised a series of events. This series of 50 anniversary
celebrations allows us to count His blessings, connect Hioecians,
and acknowledge students’ accomplishments in different areas.
The participation of all members of the HTYC family has left us with
unforgettable memories.
Christian values are an important element of HTYC and a major reason
for the success of HTYC over the past 50 years. If it had not been for
God’s Grace, HTYC would not have had the ability to nurture countless
