5E Zin Hui Hong
I have joined the Mathematics Olympiad Team for four years. For me,
mathematics is not just a subject but a part of my life. It develops my
logical thinking which helps me solve problems faster and in a more
systematic way.

I am proud of being a member of the Mathematics Olympiad Team,
which gives me more opportunities to join various mathematics
activities and competitions. I participated in lots of Math Olympiad
competitions in the past few years. Apart from giving me the joy of
winning awards, these experiences have broadened my horizons and
gave me a sense of achievement. This year, due to the outbreak of
COVID-19, most competitions and training were held online or even
cancelled. However, online competitions and training still created a special experience for
me. I will definitely treasure the face-to-face ones in the future.
Mathematics is really amazing. Different combinations of numbers create big changes. I feel
that I still have a lot of things yet to learn. I hope that COVID-19 will pass soon so that I can
have more opportunities to explore mathematics.

I have joined the Mathematics Olympiad Team for one
year. I really love mathematics. Through participating
in different Math Olympiad competitions, like Hua
Xia Cup and Asia International Mathematical
Olympiad Open Contest (AIMO) , I explored
more about the world of mathematics. I
found out that the border of mathematics is
boundless. I am honoured to have joined
our school team. Due to the outbreak of
COVID-19, the school replaced face-to-face
training with Zoom. The teacher used different online
platforms (such as Kahoot!) to increase interactions so
that we could be more engaged during the training, and
this created a nice atmosphere. Apart from training, I
had my first online competition on behalf of the school.
I had to answer every question within 90 seconds.
What a special experience for me! I hope I can join
more mathematics competitions with my teammates
and keep on exploring more about mathematics in the School teams receive training on Zoom.
