I stopped as I looked on her wrist. All I could see were broken wires, circuits
and a strange black substance from her wrist. Although I didn’t study human
biology, I definitely knew those things weren’t right. She was not a human.
She suddenly pushed me aside and rushed to the toilet. The door was locked

as soon as she went in.

After a while, I took a few steps and tried to sneak close to the door of the
bathroom. I didn’t know what encouraged me to have the guts to eavesdrop

on her, but I did it anyway. ‘Reporting, this is Alpha. It seems like our cover has
been blown. Initiating self-destruction sequence. Invasion protocol can be
activated. Over.’ A non-human voice came from the inside of the bathroom. As
much as I wanted to hold my breath, I still gave myself away by the sudden call

from my phone. ‘Oh no!’ I whispered. I immediately turned away and started
running. A distant door opening noise almost scared the soul out of my body.

I started running and sprinting until I went out of breath. Against all odds, I
escaped from the robot. I looked at the sky while catching my breaths and a
huge beam suddenly struck down. Then it was blank and nothing.

A sudden nausea caused me to wake up and I started to vomit. After a long,
dreadful and smelly time, I recovered my strength and picked the book up.
‘God! What is this book? Some kind of memorial left from our ancestors?’ It’s

2045 now and we’ve already stopped the war for ages since 2019! Stuff like
this that reminds us of the war should be thrown away!’ I grumbled to myself.
I threw the book into the rubbish bin and looked outside the window. A human
was getting hit by a robot. ‘Yep, life is great.’ I said.
