Executive Director’s report

The future is decided by the present

Established 40 years ago and having taken up its self-regulatory
duties 30 years ago, the TIC will see itself transformed back into
a trade association in about two years when the Travel Industry
Authority (TIA) is set up under the Travel Industry Ordinance, the
bill of which is expected to be enacted within this year. When the
TIA begins its operation, all the TIC’s regulatory functions will be
transferred to the TIA, after which the TIC will cease to be a self-
