4B Wong Ka Yin I have been a Chinese Debate Team
4C Poon Yeuk Man member for three years. It is such
a pity that this is my last year in this
4C Zhang Yuk Ki team. Due to Covid-19, we couldn’t have

4D Wong Yui Tung any face-to-face lessons. We just had a
5A Lok Sheung Lam few online lessons. I missed having face-
to-face debates and discussions with my
5B Wong Ki Ho friends. However, this year I could still use

6A Lui Ming Fung my previous knowledge and learn how to
analyse different kinds of debate topics. Being
6B Fong Hoi Nam Alfred
a debate team member improved my speaking skills, like
6B Fung Tsz Yan how to speak in a rational and convincing way. Initially

6B Leung Wang Yin I was a little bit shy when speaking in front of others.
Now I have gained different skills and improved my
6C Ng Bui Ka Bella
confidence so I can speak more fluently. Chinese debate
6C Tsang Hiu Yat is a valuable activity and I highly recommend this to my

6D Yu Yik Hei fellow schoolmates.

6C Ng Bui Ka Bella
I have joined the Chinese Debate Team for two years. Every week, I look
forward to having debate lessons with my friends. Some people may think
that debate is boring, but it’s not.
Not only does the debate lesson train my critical thinking skills and skills
to think from different perspectives, it also improves my presentation skills
and note-taking skills, which are important for the future.

However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, we can only have lessons
online. Although the debate lessons are still going on, it’s different from
having lessons at school. I have learnt that having the opportunity to
learn is actually precious. I will cherish the valuable debate lesson time.
I would also like to thank our teachers and teammates for encouraging
and helping us strive for our best. I hope that the spirit of our school’s debate
team can go on.
