✽教育工作的感悟
Live Life to the Fullest
Tse Kam Ming (1975 NCE Alumnus)
It brought to my attention that this year is the 75th Anniversary of Northcote College
of Education Past Students’ Association. On this occasion, I would like to express my
heartiest appreciation to the Association for its continuous fostering bondage amongst the
members and mobilizing us to serve the community.
I was a graduate of NCE in 1975. After since, I have been serving in the
Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Scheut Mission for 37 years, for the
first 15 years as a teacher and senior teacher and the remaining 22 years as the founding
principal of 3 primary schools.
I commenced my retirement in September 2012. Since then, some of my relatives
and friends always told me that I could enjoy my life, touring here and there. However,
possibly due to the arrangements of God, I was invited to be the supervisor of a primary
school, the school manager of three schools and a part time tutor in a local University
after only retiring for one month. It was remarkable to serve as the supervisor and
school manager, especially during the period of transition from School Management
Committee to Incorporate Management Committee. Not only did the tedious process
create a tremendous amount of workload, but it also taught us the importance of the legal
responsibilities we need to shoulder together.
Although the circumstances we are facing are hard, the duties are very meaningful.
Through the governance of Incorporate Management Committee, the schools have
become more accountable, enhancing autonomy, actualizing their own uniqueness and
creating participative decision making. As a result, it provides effective school education
for the students.
