學童。
團隊成員過去一年曾為幼稚園的教職員舉辦不同的專題分享會,由言語治療師透過個案

In order to assist teachers in early identification of children with special needs, members of the
team visit schools on a regular basis for lesson observations and case meetings, and follow
up on children’s individual training plans and adapt learnings, and enhance teaching staff’s
understanding towards children. According to the needs of children of each school, our workers
tailor teaching materials for the teachers to match with the development needs of the children,
helping teachers teach children with special needs more effectively.
Over the past year, our team members organized various sharing sessions on specific topics
for kindergartens’ teaching staff. To improve their understandings on how to protect their voices
and vocal cords, our speech therapists shared about the development ladder of pre-school
children through case studies and games, and explained the principles behind articulation and
vocalization; the teaching staff also visited our Centre and participated in a sensory integration
training activity, in which our occupational therapists talked about the importance of sensory
integration to child development; our clinical psychologist and social worker explained the social
and emotional development of children, and how to cultivate their abilities to the kindergarten
teachers; and our physiotherapists held joint-school teacher workshop on children’s muscle
development, annotating different types of muscle developmental disorders faced by children
with varied special needs through various examples. All participants actively participated in all
sharing sessions. 103
