Book Sharing What Did I Read and
                                                   Watch During Pandemic

                                                                                             By Abbie Cheng, S1M
During the Coronavirus Pandemic, students can’t always go outside
and play, so we stay at home. I have read a lot of interesting books and
watched many great movies during these times, so l would love to share
                                                 one of each to you.
I have read “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (See Note1) three
weeks earlier, which l think was a good book. The book was about
Harry discovering an old book during potions lesson. The book was
handwritten, and was signed at the back by the Half-Blood Prince. The
book contained many hexes, curses, and advice for making potions.
Harry followed the advice in the book, and found them useful. He didn’t
tell anyone about the book but his friends Ron and Hermione. Hermione
told him to return the book back to the Half-Blood Prince, its owner, but
Harry didn’t. The Half-Blood Prince turned out to be their ex-potions
                                                 master, Professor Snape.
This book gave me many surprises. There were many unexpected scenes
and amusing parts. I really recommend it to all S1 students.

I watched “Jumanji 2” (See Note2) during these times, too. It was a
fantastic movie. If you watched “Jumanji 1” (See Note3), you may
remember the old video game that was broken at the end of the movie.
In “Jumanji 2” the main character, Spencer, fixed the video game and got
into it again. For readers who never watched the movie, here’s a quick
review: Jumanji is a video game, but not just an ordinary video game. It
sucks you into the game and lets you play in life and in person. You have
three “lives”. If you use all your “lives”, you may also die in real life. The
only way to get out of the game is to finish it and say “Jumanji” ! Last
time Spencer and his friends got into the game but returned home safe.

Spencer went back to the game again, because he wanted to be
Bravestone, a game character, again, as he was brave, reckless, and
invincible. His friends found out that he was into the game again, and
decided to save him. However, this time Spencer’s grandfather and his
friend, Milo, got sucked in the game too. In the end, they successfully
finished the game and got back to real life, but Milo wanted to stay, so he
                                                 did.

I definitely recommend this movie. It is humorous and encouraging, but I
suggest that it’s better to watch “Jumanji 1” first.
At last, l want to say that even though we are all at home with nothing
to do, we can still entertain ourselves with books, movies and whatever
things we like to do. I hope everyone in our school can all enjoy
themselves in 2021, and live a positive life.
