Gifted Education and Remedial Scheme
In gifted education, the Diversity Learning Grant will be utilized to provide courses in the subjects of Chinese, English,
Mathematics and also Liberal Studies for the school-based Pull-Out Education.
The school's Rainbow Project is established to
encourage students with good academic performance
to take part in different trainings. Furthermore, our
students could develop their all-round potentials
through participating in different competitions and
activities outside Hon Wah College. In this year, some
senior form students have completed the Spring
Programmes for the Gifted and Talented offered by
the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Besides, some
of our students have become the members of the
Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and joined
Student giving detailed explanation to visitors different kinds of gifted programmes. To cater for the
diversified needs of students, enrichment programmes
as well as additional tutorial classes have also been offered to the students. Meanwhile, some S5 students attended
the Physics, Chemistry and Biology Tests organized by the Polytechnic University and attained Merit or Proficiency
Awards. Some S5 students also admitted to the Dual Program (Level 1) organized by the Hong Kong University of
Science and Technology, LEE HO CHUN and YIP KWAN HANG of S6B attained Grade A in the course and are invited
to proceed to Level 2 of the Program. Furthermore, S3 students have been achieving steady improvement 3 years
in a row in the Science Assessment Test organized by the Hong Kong Association for Science and Mathematics
Education.
This year, 10 gifted students in S5 served as the exhibition docents in the InnoTech Expo, who could exchange their
views with the guests and exhibitors in the event, exploring the nature of the exhibits in detail and getting to know the
path of success from other people as well. Some S4 students also attended a dialogue session with the female chief
engineer of the Express Rail Link, so as to understand success is not an accident, but the result of a positive attitude.
For the junior forms, there are top-notch courses and also tutoring courses for the subjects of Chinese, English and
Mathematics so as to provide extra help to students. Meanwhile, individual conferencing will also be arranged by the
English subject group so that our students can get feedbacks and guidance from their English teachers direct. For
the senior forms, there are extra lessons during weekdays and Saturdays as well as in the summer holiday. Therefore,
students can prepare themselves for the best for the HKDSE.
The School-based After School Learning and Support Grant will be applied to offer courses for students who have
financial needs and at the same time,
encounter difficulties in learning. Life-wide Learning Activities
