An Interview with the Kidneys
Andrew: Our guests today are two twins called Kidneys. How are you today?
Kidneys: We are doing great, Andrew.
Right Kidney: We are busy filtering the blood. We filter out the waste from the blood. We
filter out 120 quarts of blood to produce 1-2 quarts of urine.
Left Kidney: Yeah, while keeping a balance of salt and water.
Andrew: How does the urinary system work?
Right Kidney: Oh! We filter blood, send wastes and excess water through the ureter to the
bladder. The bladder sends signals to the brain that tells a person to find a
toilet soon.
Andrew: So, where are you located in the human body?
Left Kidney: I’m located on the left side of the spine at the lowest level of ribcage.
Andrew: Thanks! I’m now more familiar with you
Kidneys: Bye! Talking to you was like some clean blood for us!
Right Kidney: Make sure you eat less salty food, drink plenty of water and answer the call of
nature when necessary to protect me!
