Suspending Classes but not Suspending Learning
During the class suspension period, we strove to deliver the best possible
learning experience to our students. We used Edmodo to create a virtual
learning environment and collaborative learning community for students
to access instructional content, work on assignments, submit works and
exchange ideas. Let us recap what the students went through during class
suspension from February to May, 2020.
Daily Tasks (for P.1 - P.6) Class Suspension
There were Chinese, English and
Mathematics learning tasks every
day. To balance learning, the learning
tasks for all other subjects were
included in a two-week (P.4 to P.6)
or three-week (P.1 to P.3) cycle.
Students could still keep learning
though school was suspended.
Step by step and programmatic approach towards online learning has
been adopted.
Zoom Online Lessons (for P.4 - P.6)
Zoom online lessons aim at enhancing Interest, Interaction,
and Intervention in the process of learning and teaching. There
were nine 30-minute lessons per week for P.4 to P.6 students 55
from 20 April 2020 onwards. Both students and teachers
were equipped with the skills of using Zoom for learning and
teaching under the help of training and instructional videos
provided by the Technical Support team. 2019-2020 Harmony
Zoom Tutorials (for P.1 - P.3)
Different learning needs were met
via “Zoom tutorial” once a week
and follow-up learning tasks.
Students design cards and write encouraging messages for doctors and nurses.
