5C Leung Hong Kiu School Teams
I have been a member of the Chinese Drum Team for two years. In these
two years, I have learnt many basic skills and also some life principles. It
is my great pleasure to be a part of the Chinese Drum Team.

When I was in P.1, I saw my brother performing Chinese drums on the
stage. It was so cool that I wanted to be like him. The beats they played
were so strong that it was like my heart beating, and their actions made
me feel so curious. As time passed by, I was selected as a team member
by Mr. Man and Ms. Zhang in P.3.
Training was harder than I thought. Push-ups and sit-ups were required.
Basic skills and body movement were trained repeatedly. Last summer holiday, 103
we went to Shanxi, which is a famous city for the Chinese drum, for training.
Mosquitoes and flies were very common. Although the environment was
not good, we got valuable training conducted by the local teachers, and all
teammates got great improvement.

I have a lot of unforgettable memories from the Chinese Drum Team: We 2019-2020 Harmony
participated in the Hong Kong Chinese Drum competitions and were nervous
on the stage during our performance. We experienced sadness and tears when
we lost the competition. We got encouragement from teachers. We felt unity
with the teammates and so on. There were all great lessons in my life.

I sincerely thank Mr. Man and Ms. Zhang. They have arranged a lot of meaningful
training, competitions and excursions for us. Also, they have contributed so
much to the Chinese Drum Team. Thank you very much.
