Handchime & Handbell Team
2019-2020 Team Members: 6B Shum Tsz Wing
3D Chow Pui Lok
I have joined the Handbell Team since
3E Hui Ting Hei Primary Four. It seems easy to learn
3E Liu Yan Ting how to play handbell, but it is difficult to
play it well. Just knowing how to use the
4C Pang Ka Yiu handbell to play songs is not enough.
4B Yeung Wing Sum Ashley The most important thing is building team
spirit. Although there is a team standing
5E Cheung Hong Ching on the stage, we always perform as we School Teams
5A Leung Yan Tung are playing one piece of instrument. We
believe perseverance is vital to success. Therefore, we put a
5A Liu Wing Si
lot of effort into practising handbell. We practise so hard and
5C Ng Tsz Yin build good team spirit.
5D Tsoi Tsz Ching The Handbell Team attends different competitions and
5E Tsang Hoi Ching performances every year. It is not only a chance for us to
get awards and applause, but also helps us to build self-
6B Shum Tsz Wing
confidence and improve our concentration. We also feel a
6D Lau Tin Lam great sense of satisfaction every time we perform well. These
experiences are invaluable.
Learning handbell can help enhance my accomplishment
while building my patience, improving concentration, and
increasing my willingness to listen. I am sure that being a
member of the Handbell Team is a good decision. I hope that
there will be more and more schoolmates joining the team and
learn this special percussion instrument.

I am Chara Lau from Class 6D, and I am happy that I can share with you
my experience in the Handbell Ensemble this year!
I have been in the Handbell Ensemble for two years. My teammates
and I joined many competitions and performances. I enjoyed the days I 2019-2020 Harmony
practised with my teammates because I could learn many things about
music and the skills of playing handbells. Also, I learn more about
teamwork and team spirit, because if one of the teammates cannot play
his/her part well, the music piece that we play will not be good. So doing
our own part well is very important too.
Moreover, joining the school handbell team helps me concentrate better
as I need to concentrate on reading the music score. Reading the music
score helps me improve my music knowledge.
Although my teammates and I did not practise much this year, as the competitions were
cancelled, I still enjoyed the days that we practised together.
The P.6 Handbell Ensemble members will leave WFJLPS very soon. I hope the younger
members will still help the school to get more awards in the future.
