Fostering Positive Values and Attitudes





               Besides laying a broad knowledge foundation, the school puts a great emphasis on cultivating
               students’ positive values and attitudes so as to enhance their capabilities to face the ever-
               changing society and challenges.  This is always one of the school’s major concerns set in the
               school development and annual school plans.


               The Moral Education and Guidance Board is set up to formulate and implement the school-
               based Moral Education and Guidance Programme which aims to:
                 uphold the spirit of the school motto which is supplemented by the code of behaviour set
                  for students;
                 nurture in students the seven priority values and attitudes which include perseverance,
                  respect for others, responsibility, national identity, commitment, integrity and care for
                  others;
                 enable students to develop rational thinking and value judgement competence;                                                        Cognition Level

               Life events and issues from domains like personal development and healthy living, family,
               school, social life, community and national development are adopted as the learning content
               of Values Education.  The life events and issues selected may embed conflicting values and
               attitudes with a view to enhancing students’ analytical and reasoning skills, as well as the
               ability to adopt positive values and attitudes.  Related elements are incorporated into various
               Key Learning Areas (KLAs), cross-curricular domains in Values Education including Moral
               Education, Civic and National Education, Sex Education, Environmental Education as well as
               other relevant learning experiences.


               We strive to instill into students positive values and attitudes at the levels of cognition,
               affection and action.  To achieve this, the school provides students with holistic and balanced
               learning experiences in Values Education through integrating classroom learning, practical
               experience and learning environment.  Apart from lessons on various KLAs, lesson time is
               allocated to Values Education in the form of Morning Assemblies, Form Morning Assemblies,
               Class-teacher periods and Life Education lessons during which Moral Education and Liberal
               Studies Discussion sessions, Moral Education lessons, class building activities, thematic
               talks by guest speakers, Form-teachers and native-speaking English teachers are conducted.
