Suddenly, he heard a loud meow. The king jumped and drew his sword. His eyeballs swiveled to
the direction the horrifying sound was coming from. Then, out of the bushes jumped a big cat!
King Odod dropped his sword. Then his jaw dropped. (No, actually.) Shakily, King Odod picked
up his sword and lower jaw, and ran!
                “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!”
Back at his royal palace, King Odod was telling his son, Prince Odod IV, about the bone-
chilling encounter he had with the cat, all the while sewing on his lower jaw. When he had
finished, Prince Odod was amazed. “Father, I want to be like you when I grow up!” he exclaimed
            cheerfully.
But just then, Scatterbrain, the King’s Advisor, burst in. “Your Majesty!” he shrieked. “A cat
            is attacking the city!”
“NOOOOOO!” wailed King Odod. “That cat followed me here!” He looked out the
window, and saw utter chaos. Dodos were jumping around, screaming, freaking out, as the cat
demolished house by house. Thinking fast, King Odod punched the alert button, and an ear-
piercing alarm sounded. King Odod raised his loudspeaker and squealed, “CITIZENS! WE ARE
BEING ATTACKED! EMERGENCY MANEUVER! DIG A HOLE AND HIDE IN IT!!!” A fellow
citizen dug a giant hole, and the entire dodo population poured into it. Then, King Dodo sealed
the hole, leaving only a little space for air.
And that was it. Since then, no one ever saw a dodo walk on the land again. To this day, they
are still cowering inside their underground cavern.
