This Discovery Week we went to Taichung and explored
the area around Taichung to learn more about the
special and unique culture of Taiwan and how they
protect their culture and the natural environment. Our
itinerary was packed and the five days flew by. Not only
did we go to the famous tourist spots, we also visited
some places that were related to local culture and these
were perhaps the most memorable of the whole trip.

Firstly, my favourite place is Sun Moon Lake; the scenery
there is really beautiful especially at sunset. Next on my list of
favourites is the solar farm, which is an organic farm where we
got to pick mushrooms ourselves. The best part was making
our own lunch and setting up our own camp fire. The food
wasn’t necessarily the best quality, but the
process was really enjoyable and we really
learned the importance of teamwork.
We also went to famous night market in
Taichung; the food there was amazing.
Finally, we really enjoyed the unique
scenery of Rainbow Village, which is
totally unlike the scenery in Hong Kong.
