English Speaking Day
To provide an authentic English environment for students to practise English, the English
Speaking Day was held on the first Wednesday of each month. Students used English
to greet our Headmistress Ms Ip, teachers and janitors in the morning when arriving at
school. During recesses, the discipline teacher made announcements in English. Shared
reading activities were arranged at the first recess. At lunchtime, students watched videos
about fables. Students were exposed to an English-rich environment.
English Reading Day
To arouse pupils’ interest in reading, the NETs organized the English Reading Day on
31 January 2018. Students enjoyed silent reading in their classroom. At recess, they

watched videos about book sharing. They were required to finish a book report at home. A
Certificate of Merit was given to the Best Book Report of each class.
