Subject: I can’t wait to see you
Hi Chris
It was great to get your email and I’m so happy you’re coming to Hong Kong. You said you
wanted to check out some art stuff while you’re here. I have some ideas for you. See what you
think.
On the first day I know you’ll be tired after your long flight. I thought we could just catch up
and have a coffee somewhere. I know you’ll have so much to tell me about life in England and
I know how much you like coffee!
On the second day I thought we could visit an art gallery in the Hong Kong Convention
and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. I know there are lots of art works, pictures, photos and
sculptures. I’m sure that you can see what you want to see there. There are some outstanding
masterpieces. You can see both Chinese and foreign artwork at the same time. However, don’t
touch anything because everything is expensive. Also, you can buy a DVD there to know more
about the background of the artwork.
On the third day we’ll visit the Hong Kong Museum of History in Tsim Sha Tsui. There’ll
be a rare exhibition of some valuable old Chinese nature paintings. There are also some other
wonderful art pieces too, such as ceramics from 1,000 years ago.
Watching a traditional Chinese movie is scheduled for the fourth day. The title of the movie
is, “Hong Kong in 1970”. It’s about the history of Hong Kong art and focuses on 1970. We’ll go
to Mong Kok to see the movie. Don’t worry about the Chinese language though because this
movie will have English subtitles too.
What do you think of my ideas? Write back and let me know. Can’t wait to see you.
Bye
Alex
