An Unforgettable Dining Experience

1A Chu Pui Lam

For my 11th birthday, I had my birthday meal with my family in Tai Po. I had chosen a
Korean restaurant for a barbecue.
The restaurant was quite creative. It was decorated with a modern feel but I thought it was
not bright enough. We sat at the side of the restaurant. There was a big and colourful picture
behind us. When we sat down, the waiter came to us with a kind smile.
I ordered cold noodles, some meat, vegetables and a bowl of rice. My family members
ordered the same as me. The raw vegetables and meat came first and we started to grill the
steak and the pork chop first. It was interesting and delicious! After that, four bowls of cold
noodles and four bowls of rice came second. I felt a little full so I gave my rice to my father.
There were boiled eggs, some corn and some carrots on the noodles. It looked very yummy.
Finally, I ate a strawberry ice-cream for dessert.
We finished our meal at around nine o’clock in the evening. I enjoyed my birthday meal
and the pop music in the restaurant. I felt very happy and my father paid the expensive bill at
the end.

An Unforgettable Dining Experience

Three years ago, all my family members, including mum, dad, grandpa and grandma,
went to Disney Hotel to have a buffet lunch. It was because it was my 9th birthday.

‘May I help you to find your seats?’ When we arrived, a waitress came towards us and
asked politely. ‘Yes, please,’ my father replied. As we were walking to our table, we saw lots of
lights hanging just above our heads but they weren’t too bright or hot. They were just perfect.
Also, we saw some decorations inside the restaurant. They were modern, fashionable and
creative. Although it was a self-service buffet, I still thought that the waiters and waitresses
were very polite and had a really good attitude.
When I went up to the buffet table to choose some fruit for my first dish, something
smelling really good came in the way of my nose! It was beef. I followed the strong smell
and I thought I should have main course before dessert. The beef looked really great! It
tasted yummy because it was super juicy and tender. Next, I got some tomato spaghetti for
my second dish which tasted fine. It was just a bit sour and the tomato slices were quite soft
and juicy. After having some food, we all started feeling full so we decided to choose some
desserts. I chose a mango pudding, my mum got a slice of cheesecake, my dad got a slice
of chocolate cake and my grandparents each chose a waffle. Right after we tasted our own
dessert, we all thought that they were tasty. This was because they weren’t too sweet or too
bland.
We finished our meal at around 3.00 pm and my father paid the bill. It wasn’t too
expensive but worth the price. Everyone enjoyed the meal very much and we really want to
have another meal in Disney Hotel soon.
