Project-based Learning
Our school provides an opportunity for all S3 students to participate in a journey of solving daily life problems Blooming in grace
through project-based learning (PBL). From 2017-18, PBL has focused on STEAM disciplines.
In the PBL, students started with identifying a daily life problem, then making proposals, drawing drafts of their
designs, receiving comments from the supervisors, testing their products, refining and making modifications,
and finally presenting their products in the STEAM fair (in which teachers and students, especially S2 students,
are invited to attend). Groups with extraordinary performance would be invited to continue their product making
in the senior form and participate in various competitions.
In 2021-22, S3 students participated in a STEM-focused social innovation program: the Schools Challenge
– Innovating for Tomorrow@Kowloon East co-organised by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK) and J.P.
Morgan. The prototypes made were innovative solutions that helped transform Kowloon East into a pioneer
smart city in Hong Kong. One of our teams won the first-runner up with their innovative design of a monitor to
show the most convenient route to use the footbridges nearby.
