“A little effort every day goes a
long way.”
Being one of the winners of the Student of the Year award, Tsz Yau believes
that her unparalleled determination and everyday efforts in study has led to
her academic success, she shared, “For me, it is a must to prepare learning
materials and questions to inquire before classes; while after classes, I recap
what I have learnt and do revisions on a daily basis. I believe a little effort
every day goes a long way, and I am glad these accumulated efforts are
reflected in my achievements.”
Nevertheless, academic is not the only thing Tsz Yau excelled in. She
believes that a student should also balance their time and development in
other important aspects such as personal characteristics and extra-curricular
activities to attain an all-rounded development, and Tsz Yau has proved it right
by her own experience.
“I am really lucky to be selected into a number of school teams such as
gymnastics, cheerleading, and orchestra. I love the training times from these
school teams – not only are they fun, they also taught me about teamwork,
persistence, mental stability, and how to embrace failures – something that I
could not learn and experience from a textbook. Other than extra-curricular
activities, I am grateful towards my teachers at WFJLPS who taught me about
the importance of having good moral characters since day 1 with the school.
They seem basic, but in fact important and essential like communicating and
cooperating with others, respecting others’ perspectives, and being empathetic
and sympathetic. These virtues are not only useful for me as a student, but are
beneficial to me in a lifetime!”
