The Memorable PTA Family Hiking Day

The Autumn breeze boosted an outing atmosphere among us all.
On 14 Nov, the "Happy Autumn Nature Walk" attracted almost 100
parents, students and their family members, together with several ‘Family
Members’ from the school including Ms. Jenny Sit, the Deputy Principal, Mr.
John Ko, the Assistant Principal and several teachers and their family. The
"Tung Mui Ancient Trail" was selected as the route.
The huge group was divided into seven teams, each with two professional
hiking instructors and leaders. Among them include Rocky Ho and May Wong,
our PTA parent members, who helped to guide the teams with introduction to
every historical and natural attractions along the way.
We started the trip (as rated ‘3 star’ difficulty according to AFCD and
‘Moderate’ according to the LCSD [*Note] ) from the Tung Chung MTR station,
and walked to Pak Mong village, where we found the Watchtower built in
1930’s, and the Sword-testing Stone, soon before we reached the starting
point of the Olympic Trail. Along the way, we went a bit up and down the hill,
where we enjoyed the natural sites such as the Silver Mine Waterfall and Cave,
as well as the historical and cultural sites such as the Wenwu Temple of Pak
Ngan Heung. And finally ended at the Mui Wo Ferry Pier.
The five-hour trip was surely filled with sweat, laughter, surprise, as well The ‘Happy Autumn Nature Walk’ attracted more than 100

“Our family got the chance to do the hiking all together
because of the PTA event. The leaders were so
professional with detailed introduction to every site along
the way.” Amy Chan (S2P)’s grandma, together with
other 7 members of the family, joined the hiking as 3
          generations together.
