Hi everyone, I am Bryan from Class 6A. During the class
suspension period, we needed to have Zoom lessons
every weekday. Every Saturday I needed to go to Tsim Sha
Tsui to have a fencing lesson. When it is time to practise
fencing, first I warm up. After that, I put on a lot of clothes
for protection and start the lesson. When we are wearing
the fencing gear and fighting, it leads to a higher body
temperature. Because we need to move around, we sweat
profusely. So every time when we are fencing, we feel very
uncomfortable. But when you win, you will forget the pain
that you have been feeling. Hope you can enjoy fencing
too.

I have been learning fencing since K.3. In these eight years, I
met a lot of friends. Hence I know the importance of team spirit
and gained a lot of precious competition experience. Among
all the qualities, I think getting well-prepared for mental and
physical status is the most important. For example, there was
no fencing practice during the outbreak of COVID-19, but I still

did many fitness trainings to maintain my best physical status
to prepare for future challenges. Benjamin Franklin once said,
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” I believe this
was the reason I could get the second runner-up in the inter-
school fencing competition. Last but not least, I would like to
thank my family and my coach as they have been giving me a lot
of support all these years.
