Dear Keyboardwarrior2020,
Thanks for sharing this with me. I totally understand your situation.
Eating junk food always makes people feel satisfied, and it is hard
to control yourself. Although we all know it contains high calories,
we are just addicted to its scrumptious taste.
Of course, losing weight is hard. But for the sake of health, you
must make some changes in order to become a better person. If
you keep gaining weight, your chronic knee joint problems and
diabetes will become worse. You have to pull yourself together,
otherwise you may suffer from health problems.
If I were you, I would start with changing my eating habit. I
suggest you do a meal planning for yourself. You can follow the
Food Pyramid to plan the suitable amount of each nutrient. On
your meal planner, you can also include the time of eating. Eating
regularly during the day helps burn calories at a faster rate. It also
reduces the temptation to snack. However, it is okay to eat some
healthy snacks, such as a protein bar in case you are very hungry
between meals. Also, you need to drink plenty of water. It is a
good way to avoid drinking soft drinks.
Exercise is not as terrible as what you think. If you don’t want
to feel overwhelmed or purchase any equipment, there are
some convenient and easy ways for beginners to lose weight,
for example, walking. Walking is one of the best exercises for
reducing weight. You can go for a walk after dinner. It is not
difficult and much better than sitting or lying at the couch, right?
Also, it is a low-impact exercise, which means it doesn’t stress
your joints. To get started, aim to walk at least 20 minutes
4-5 times a week. You can gradually increase the duration or
frequently as you become fitter.
The most important thing is to be true to yourself! Even though
there may be someone laughing at you, just ignore those silly
comments and keep fighting for your goal. Hope my advice can
help you. Should you have anything to share with me, just drop
me a line. I’ll be there for you.
Love,
Chris
