Why are Sports Day or Campus Run
important and necessary in our
school life?

t is known to all that our school holds Sports Day and
ICampus Run every year. To get a full understanding of the
reason why these two events are important to us, we have
to turn first to the benefits of these events. Both Sports Day
and Campus Run encourage students to do more sports.
Therefore, students’ health and physical fitness can be
improved through exercise. Another positive aspect is that
it can develop their competitive consciousness, which can
also strengthen the perseverance of students. Students may
also become interested in doing sports in the end. On the
other hand, students understand the necessity of working
together. Take Campus Run as an example. Teamwork is
needed since it’s a relay race. But the most significant
reason for these two events, I personally think, is that
they are the way to balance our school life. Surveys
show that doing sports can reduce stress and it helps
us relax after a period of exhausting studying.
