Dear Dad and Mom,

How are you? Hope you are enjoying your overseas trip! As you know I really
want to take up an acting career so I have selected the Hong Kong Academy
for Performing Arts. I know you don’t want me to choose this subject. You

want me to pursue an academic subject at HKU. The submission deadline is
approaching, so I really want you to support me to pursue my future goal after
secondary school in this subject.

First, as you know, I love acting and drama since I was a child. I like playing
different characters with my friends and acting with them. I joined different
activities about acting and art. I joined the drama club and the choral speaking
team to develop my interests and talent. As you know, I also joined many

competitions and got awards too. I just love acting, drama and choral speaking so
much. And now, the level of my love for these things are still increasing. They
are the most important things in my life.

Secondly, I want you to trust that I have the results to qualify for the subject
in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. I got many awards in primary
school and also now in secondary school. For example, the best actor awards,
the best character award and the champion of the speech festival etc. These

awards prove that I am not just interested in drama and acting; I am good
at them too. The course at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts really
suits me. Even though you do not want me to study this subject, these areas
are my strengths. I hope you consider these from my side and give me the

opportunity and support me, please.
