Teen Health Matter –
Common stressors faced by
our Students

A recent survey conducted by the Student Union shows that 70% of the
students at our school suffer from stress. It also reflects the fact that our
school is putting too much pressure on our classmates, which means that
we need to figure out an effective way to solve the problem and make our
students mentally healthy.
Before we talk about the problem of teen health, I’ll introduce what is “stress”
first. Stress, or you can call it “pressure”, it’s a usual and normal thing that
exists in our life. Yes, we can’t really see it, but we can feel it. For example,
stress is the thing that causes you to feel anxious or nervous in some cases,
such as, doing homework before your subject leader comes to collect them,
run in an extreme speed before you are late for class or more. All the bad
feelings that you have and the motivation that makes you do that is called
“stress”. The examples above are counted as good stress as they make you
focus on your work and escape the fate from being punished. We also got
bad stress. Different from good stress, it can cause you to give up or fall
in negative emotions. It’s like the anxiety you have before you have your
presentation or speaking in front of others. That could make you fail easily
and feel depressed before or after that.
In the survey, we can see that students are having bad stress. Over half of our
