Summer Part-time Jobs
3R3 3D (16) Tam Tsz Hin
Good morning, Principal, teachers and fellow schoolmates. My name is Ken
Wong, a member of the Career and Life Planning Team. Today, I want to talk
about the types of summer jobs, how to choose a suitable summer job and
ways to protect ourselves.
First, I want to talk about the types of part-time job. Actually, we have already
prepared three part-time job choices to let you guys choose. Firstly, we can
be a Trainee in McDonald’s. We need to record customers order, prepare food
and maintain the cleanliness of the working environment. We also need to
work more than 3 hours a day. Secondly, we can be construction workers.
Construction workers need to carry some heavy things and use some heavy
machinery. We also need to work more than 6 hours a day. Finally, we can be a
salesperson in Happy Daniel. A salesperson needs to talk and sell the things
to customers, clean the floor and put the things on shelves.
Next, I will talk about how to choose a suitable job. First, if you want to be a
Trainee, you need to focus and listen to customers’ orders when he is ordering.
We also need to record the order fast. So, if you are very lazy and don’t have
enough time to sleep, or you can’t focus when you are working, I think you
should not choose this job. Next, if you want to be a construction worker, you
have to have a strong body that you can carry heavy things and do not fear
working hard. Actually, I think this job is a good chance for us, because in this
job, we can know how hard the construction workers’ jobs are and train our
body. So, I think this job can be a good challenge for us. Then, if you want to be
a salesperson, you have to have good social skills that can help you sell the
things to the customers.
