Two-sided argumentative essay
Secondary school students
do part-time jobs, yes or no?
3A (7) Cheung Yuk Fong, Yvonna
Nowadays, many secondary school students start doing part-time jobs during
summer holidays or New Year holidays. Someone may think they are just
like child labour. Is doing part-time jobs really suitable for this age group of
students? Should secondary school students do part-time jobs? Today, in this
essay, I am going to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of students
doing part-time jobs. Here we go!
First, students often do part-time jobs after school or at weekends. They
spend too much time on doing part-time jobs. They do not have enough time
to rest. Their school results may keep decreasing. Thus, doing part-time jobs
really affects students’ academic performance.
Second, if students just focus on their work, they will not do anything. They
just keep working. However, some of the students will earn money for buying
the luxury products. If they just think about money, it is really a bad habit. In
the end, they just want to earn more money and go shopping. Therefore, it will
make them think earning money is the most important. It is not good for their
growth.
On the other hand, doing part-time jobs can be also good for secondary school
students.
