at the 40 Anniversary cum the 37 Graduation Ceremony

Mr. Wong, Mr. Chang, Dr. Yu, Vice-chairmen and Directors of the Association, School
Managers, Distinguished Guests, Parents, Teachers, Graduates and Students,
Today is an important and meaningful day of our school. It
th
is our 37 Graduation Ceremony and also a celebration of
th
the school’s 40 anniversary. It is our greatest honour to
have Mr. Wong Po Ming, our founding Principal to officiate
on this occasion. On behalf of the school, I would like
to express our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Wong, Mr. Chang,
Chairman of the Association and other honourable guests for
their gracious presence this afternoon.
Kiangsu-Chekiang College (Shatin) is one of the four schools
established by Kiangsu Chekiang And Shanghai Residents
1978, we have adhered to the Association’s good tradition
YEARS OF EXCELLENCE (Hong Kong) Association. Since our establishment in
and educational philosophy of providing quality all-round
education to the students. With the full support of the school
40 sponsoring body, Mr. Wong Po Ming, our founding Principal
laid a firm foundation for the school. During his term of office, our school was approved as
one of the first 100 secondary schools using English as the medium of instruction. We also
received the Outstanding School Award and was the only school awarded in the domain of
Students’ Attainment. The school’s performance was widely recognized by the education
sector and society. With the sound leadership of the then Principals, Mr. Chan Hon Ling
and Mr. Wong Chong Yee, the school continued to grow in leaps and bounds and students’
performances in both academic and non-academic pursuits were equally impressive.
In the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination 2018, 80% of our students
attained ‘3322’ or better in the four core subjects, while the Hong Kong average was 37%.
70% of our F.6 graduates were admitted to degree programmes through JUPAS, of which
about 30% were admitted to degree and dual degree programmes offered by the University
of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of
Science and Technology, covering disciplines like Medicine, Technology and Management,
Risk Management and Business Intelligence, etc. Besides, one of our students was admitted
to Peking University with exemption of entrance examination. Overall, all our F.6 graduates
were admitted to universities or other higher education institutions.
