After nearly forty years, our old school building was no longer adequate to support the more
diverse and demanding requirements of a modern school curriculum. Our sponsoring body,
Kiangsu Chekiang And Shanghai Residents (Hong Kong) Association, recognized the value of
a good learning environment to support the teaching and learning activities of our school. The
Association generously donated HK$70 million to build an extension, which was ready for
use in 2016. The new building is a major investment by our school to sustain the growth and
development of school in the years ahead.
The success of our school is due to the combined efforts of all our stakeholders, in particular,
our teachers and students. However, there is one person whose efforts deserve special
mention, and he is our founding Principal, Mr. Wong Po Ming.
Mr. Wong had been our principal for 23 years from 1978 to 2001, and led our school through
its early formative years. Even after his retirement, he was still active with our work through
his participation in the school’s management committee.
It is our honour to have Mr. Wong as our officiating guest today. Please join me in welcoming
Mr. Wong.
