Subject: Kitty’s Birthday Party
Hi Percy,

You wouldn’t believe what happened to me
yesterday.
Yesterday was Kitty’s twelfth birthday. I went to
a restaurant to celebrate with her. Her mum and dad
prepared a lot of games for us to play. The games
were really fun. The food there was delicious. There
were cupcakes, sandwiches, pizzas and other kinds
of food. My friends, Kitty and I enjoyed them very
much. We chatted happily too.
Suddenly, the ground shook. The food dropped to the fl oor. Someone screamed loudly and
everything like lights, clocks fell to the tables. Everyone was frightened of the earthquake and
did not know what to do. Kitty suggested we had to fi nd the emergency exit.
When we tried to open the exit door, the door was locked. We were trapped. Everybody was
shocked and frightened. Kitty said calmly, ‘Although the exit door is locked, we can hide under
the chairs and tables to protect ourselves’. So, we followed Kitty’s advice.
After a while, the ground stopped shaking. The lights were on again. Everyone was safe
and happy too. They also said Kitty was brave. It was a very unforgettable experience.
