Punting in Cambridge
4C Ho Tik Yau, Silent
It took us two hours to get to Cambridge, but it
is worth doing so because I got the chance to
experience punting. My friends, Ms Man, Ms Ho and
our activity leader, Jess took the same boat. The
breeze was refreshing. Our chauffeur, David took
us on a 30-minute ride on River Cam. He wielded
the long pole to keep the boat going. We had an
interesting and informative tour focusing on the
'riparian colleges', famous alumni and Cambridge
history while we enjoyed the magnificent sights such King's College, University of Cambridge
as Kings College Chapel, The Bridge of Sighs and
New Court St Johns.

Look! Big ducks and baby ducks were swimming
on the River. Suddenly, an adorable little yellow
duck swam towards our boat. I caught this precious
moment with my “non-professional camera” and
sadly, the photo was blurred.
Punting in Cambridge was the best activity I did
during the trip. I wish to visit River Cam with my family
again!

Punting on River Cam was a really unforgettable
experience for me. Our tall chauffeur propelled our
boat with a long pole, and introduced the views and
history of the buildings beside us. It was very exciting
as sometimes I was splashed by the water from the
river. There were many ducks on the river. I thought
they must be very smart since they are “Cambridge
ducks”. I fed them with sandwiches and they seemed 31
hungry because they all fought for the breadcrumbs.
The little ducks were sad as they were not strong
enough to compete with their older companions. I
threw the breadcrumbs out to the little ducks, hoping
that they enjoyed a nice meal too.
