Effective ways to kill time at Dubai Airport
2A Lai Tsz Him, Jeremy
Waiting for a flight is exhausting. Sometimes, the flight may be delayed and then you have to wait for a couple
more hours. Let me share with you some effective ways to kill time in the airport.
1. Playing Board/Card Games
You can play board/card games such as Scrabble, Monopoly, UNO and Poker with your friends, parents or even
teachers when you are waiting at the airport.
2. Duty free shopping
The best thing to do in the airport is to go duty free shopping
when you have nothing to do. This is also the last chance
for you to buy souvenirs for yourself and your friends.
3. Having a meal
This is going to be the last special meal in the country you British Cultural Immersion Programme
have just visited. Do you know how much a McDonald's Big
Mac Combo costs in Dubai? (Answer can be found at the
bottom of this page)
A Big Mac Combo costs AED 27, that's HKD57.5! What much is a Big Mac Combo at Dubai Airport?
What are you waiting for?
Let's go shopping in England!

Hong Kong is known as the Shopping Paradise, but I found England a better place for shopping. Let me share
my shopping experience with you all.
Harry Potter Merchandise
Who's the most famous British hero among kids? HARRY
POTTER!
In Warner Bros Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry
Potter, I could buy a range of specially selected collectible items, 35
replica wands, confectionery, apparel and much more. My friends
and I couldn't stop shopping and we stayed at the studio shop until
9:30 p.m..
Look what I bought! A cup of butter-beer, Hermione's magic wand, We are all wizards and witches.
and a key ring.
Books, books and books
England is rich in history and it's the best place to get merchandise of the famous playwright
Shakespeare. Thought of getting a copy of Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, and
Hamlet? Just visit a book store, some books are on sale and they cost only £3.99. Ms Man and
Ms Ho bought more than 15 books and they told me that the best way to improve my English is
to read more, so I bought a few as well. I'm ready to learn more spells.
Covent Garden: Candies and magic products
My friends and I were amazed by the number and types of candies
we found in the Sweet Shop in Covent Garden. I bought British
confectionery, chocolates, crisps and tea for my family. We also
visited a small magic shop. After we enjoyed a show of magic,
Barnabas and Henry bought a pack of magic poker and a fake
cigarette to play a prank on others.
I had many unforgettable experiences, gained new knowledge
and made new friends during the tour, this's why I loved the British
The boys are mesmerised by magic. Immersion Programme very much.
